Sharon serves as System Librarian, confirmed by the State Library of Kansas in June 2021. She earned her Master’s of Library Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has served as Tonganoxie Public Library Director, Northeast Kansas Library System Technology Consultant, Huntingdon Valley (PA) Library Director, and Linwood Community Library District.

Brenda serves as Business Manager, providing financial support and office management for the System.
Substitute Librarian

Karen moved to the area after retiring as the Library Director in Osborne, Kansas. She is available to serve as a substitute librarian, up to three times per year, at no cost to the library.

Amy provides general consulting to all member libraries and trustees. She also serves as editor to the bimonthly newsletter, Stacks of News, and coordinates the System’s continuing education program and Niche academy.

Carol provides administrative support to the System and consultants, including management of our email distribution lists. She indexes the Stacks of News newsletter, prints and distributes the Annual report and System plan, and provides support at System events.
SEKnFind Coordinator

SEKnFind is a service offering a shared regional integrated library system (ILS) using Koha open source software. SEKnFind started in November 2008 with eight members, but now includes 50 public libraries and three (3) community colleges. Jason provides database administration, support, customization, and ongoing training opportunities for libraries participating in the shared catalog. He works closely with Resource Sharing and Technical Services Departments.

Rotation and Acquisitions

Cheryl oversees acquisitions for the System and purchases multiple copies of books from bestselling authors to support Interlibrary loan. These titles are transferred to Rotation Services when demand drops.
Rotation Driver

Rotation Driver
While Cheryl curates, purchases, and manages Rotation, Roger delivers the boxes of books to libraries throughout the system. Participating sites include: 49 public libraries, two (2) community college libraries, four (4) locations in communities with no established library, and three (3) other service outlets. Each rotation delivery brings a mixture of fiction, nonfiction, large print, young adult, and children’s books. With about 370 books in each rotation, each site receiving a full rotation sees approximately 2,900 different books per year through this service.

Kim and her team oversee all database maintenance, cataloging, and cataloging training for the SEKnFind shared catalog. She coordinates special cataloging projects and the creation of new MARC records for member libraries.

Melissa has also served the System for over 38 years as our primary cataloger, adding new materials to the SEKnFind Shared catalog, ensuring that the bibliographic records in the catalog are clean, complete, and up-to-date.

This position serves as our primary telephone operator and processes new materials for the collection. Book repair and DVD cleaning services also fall under this position.
