DeepFreeze Thaw Instructions

  1. Push and hold Shift/Ctrl/Alt/F6 buttons, then release, and the deepfreeze window should open up.
    1. Alternate way is to hold Shift and double click the polar bear icon in the taskbar.
  2. Enter your DeepFreeze password and press enter
  3. Select “Boot Thawed” and click “Apply and Reboot”.

The computer will now reboot and computer should be thawed when it comes back on.   You can verify by looking at the polar bear in the taskbar (press the arrow up by the clock).   If the bear has a red X the computer is thawed and changes that are made will be saved to the computer after reboots.   To re-freeze the computer, follow the same steps, but on step 3 choose “Boot Frozen” instead.

MAKE SURE computers are Frozen before allowing patrons to use them, otherwise any logins they use could be saved, anything they download or install will be saved, and the computer is more susceptible to malware and viruses when Deep Freeze is disabled.
